3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Saw, but the drop foot is annoying!   October 25, 2008

It cuts well, but the drop foot is very annoying. It never stays in place when you cut small pieces. Other than that, it's an okay saw.

5 out of 5 stars Dremel Scrollsaw 1830   June 9, 2008

Wow! Is this a good saw? It fast and accurate. It's easy to use and it rotates 90 degrees for long cuts. The saw blade holder/changer is simple and effective. It's quick as I always have to do interior cuts. It says it's 18" deep but it is really 20... Great saw!

3 out of 5 stars Good tool which could have been great.   April 12, 2008

This is actually a nice tool. I own a Dremel 1610 which unfortunately met its fate due to a flooded basement. This was my replacement. The tool is nice except for one thing. The table insert is not ridged enough. It is way too easily bent, and was never really perfectly flat. This is especially bad when it comes to cutting intricate cuts or small objects. I was a bit disappointed to see that this model did not include a stand or a light as my 1610 did, but most saws don't, so no big deal. If this saw had a better table insert, I would give it a 5 star rating for a tool in this price point. P.S. I did not find the tool to have too much vibration (as a matter of fact, I have been able to do all of my cutting without even clamping the saw down-it is just sitting on a wooden workbench), clumsy blade changes, overly loud, or have any problem with the dust blower as others have stated.

5 out of 5 stars Best buy for the buck and best warranty   February 11, 2008

I did alot of research and comparison to all the brands and hands down this was the best buy for the buck. It performs great, easy to change blades, tension lever up front and easy to adjust. Noise level is acceptable, the Dewalt maybe up one here, but your paying over twice as much. If doing over would buy the same dremel again.
I mounted solid to a bench and laid a thin rubber mat under it and bolted down secure and has no excessice viberation. If I could change anything on the machine it would be to have a 20" or 22" throat. Don't let peoples comments of hard to change blades, noisey, viberates, loud, cheap...all Bogus. Its a Great Machine! Love it. Robert

4 out of 5 stars Good Value Scroll Saw   January 2, 2008

I bought this saw with the 20% discount. There is some vibration but with a rubber sanding mat underneath it, it performs very well. What do you want for under $200. If your a professional who will use this saw everyday, buy the dewalt scroll saw and go away. For the home DIY, this saw is decent quality at a decent price.
