Bosch Lithium Pocket Driver/Drill
What's so great about the Bosch PS20-2 Pocket Driver/Drill? Well, for one thing, it's powered by a lithium-ion battery, which provides more power in a more compact package than traditional NiCad batteries that are bulkier, heavier, and have reduced run-times.
This is one of the first cordless tools of the type to begin offering this new battery technology. Larger drills/drivers such as some models from Makita are beginning to offer lithium-ion batteries but they are somewhat pricey.
For casual power drill/driver users, a big advantage of the lithium-ion (LI-ION) battery is that it doesn't self-discharge over time after a recharge. It's very frustrating with tools using NiCad or even NiMH batteries to attempt to use them two weeks after you've given them a full charge and discover they need to be charged again.
Although this tool is labled as a driver, it also works well as a low-speed drill (0-400 rpm) using hex-shank bits, available from Hitachi and others. The PS20-2's quick-change chuck makes swapping bits a breeze. It also has a 10-position clutch, reversing switch, LED light, 2 batteries, and a 30-minute charger.
